The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Map
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a classic circular challenge walk in the Yorkshire Dales, with most groups aiming to complete this 24.5km route within a 12 hour time limit.

The walking route, which varies from tarmac road and farm track, to open moss and sections of the Pennine Way, is suitable for walkers with limited experience - but with the simple ability to read a map (or written route instructions), the dedication and enthusiasm to complete the long distance, and the right safety equipment and outdoor clothing.

Taking in the summits of Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, and passing through some fantasticly scenic areas, this walk is the ideal initial fundraising challenge for people with limited challenge experience. Merseyventure offer a number of Open Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenges each year, with extremely low entry fees (from £30 per person), and these popular social events offer great support, and keeps your charity supporters coming back for more challenging events in the future.

For 2011, we have 8 Open Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenges organised, where your teams will recieve pre-event information, a bunkhouse accommodation option, start and finish venue, professional Sport Ident electronic timing and results, team start photo's,  loan of mapping and route information, team event bibs, staffed safety checkpoints, VHF radio network, return minibus transport for tired/injured walkers, BBQ at the finish, medal for all finishers... And a very helpful and friendly support team ;-)
