Merseyventure Charity Three Peaks Challenges

Charity Three Peaks Challenge start - Glen Nevis
Merseyventure have been delivering quality events for charities since 2000. Our feedback has been outstanding, and our commitment to the environment is second to none. We will ensure your challenge is safe, environmentally sound, and your participants are very happy. Our range of events include small challenges with just two or three participants - to huge races with over 1000 people taking part.

For the National Three Peaks Challenge, we like to keep things small and compact with as little disturbance as possible to the places and communities which we pass through. Our usual instructor to walker ratio is 1:8 or less, and the following charity deals are based upon that maximum ratio for safety and enjoyment reasons.

Charity Challenge Rates 2010.

For 2010 we are offering registered charities the following deals:

Micro Challenge: Up to 4 walkers.
£1200 per event (from £300 per walker)

Minibus Challenge: 5-8 walkers.
£1600 per event (from £200 per walker)

As a guide, most charities request walkers to raise at least £750 each to take part in these challenges, delivering a possible £4400 from a single minibus challenge. For the minibus challenge, a charity representitive may attend (not walk) for a nominal fee.

This event includes collection and drop-off at pre-determined points on our corridor (or free secure client car parking at our base in Liverpool), one nights bunkhouse accommodation in Fort William, experienced and qualified mountain guide, experienced driver, vehicle and fuel, basic food after Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike, medals and certificates for all finishers, email help and advice from event organiser, written information and kit lists, training advice, loan of equipment (ie, head torches, trekking poles, bivvy bags) upon request.

Charity Entries Into Open Challenge Events.

Open Three Peaks Challenge Series 2010
Every year we organise a series of Open Challenge Three Peaks. These events attract mostly Corporate and works teams, wishing to raise funds for their own chosen charity or good cause, without being tied to an organisers charity commitment of £1000's for a charity they have no real interest in. Many teams will raise inexcess of £5000, and in 2008 one team raised over £100k..!

Merseyventure are happy to release a number of Team places to registered charities, who may in turn 'resell' the place to teams raising funds for their own charity. Most charities who do this decide to do so because it removes all of the insecurities of a bespoke event, and still delivers a great return - with many asking for between £2750 and £5000 sponsorship per team.

Our Open Challenges for 2010 are as follows:

8-9 May 2010: Spring Stroller Three Peaks Challenge
25-26 June 2010: Corporate Three Peaks Challenge
4-5 September 2010: Die Hard Trilogy Three Peaks Challenge

Charity Challenge Rates 2010.

Each charity team entry qualifies for a 50% entry discount. For the Spring Stroller and Die Hard Trilogy, the cost per team is £424.50, the cost per team for the Corporate Team Challenge is £550.

Charity Entry Conditions.

To qualify for these charity challenge rates, the following conditions apply:
1. Team entry must be paid for by a UK registered charity.
2. Full payment must be made at the time of booking.
3. No refund is available.
4. No further discounts apply.
5. Charities are limited to 3 teams per event in 2010.

Merseyventure & Charity Challenges

We understand that when looking for a Challenge Partner, a charity has certain requirements. We hope that in finding Merseyventure - you've found your ideal partner..!

Merseyventure is a member of the Institute of Outdoor Learning, and Merseyventure - and all of it's staff - are insured for public liability to £5million. All Merseyventure staff are highly experienced, and those in charge of a group either on the water or in the mountains, will have the appropriate National Governing Body qualification.

Drivers and ground support staff are also all aware of their vital safety and moral boosting roles, and all of our staff are friendly, knowledgable and supportive. Our safety record is second to none - and the safety of our clients and staff is our first concern. We will ensure that all participants will leave with positive memories of the challenge and your charity, in a safe and supportive environment.

Charity Challenges

Some charities may simply wish to have an 'off the peg' popular challenge adjusted to suit their needs, and this is very easy for us to organise. We simply need to discuss the level of comfort and support you wish to offer your challenge teams in regard to accommodation, transport, food, and pre-event training.

However, some charities and organisations wish to extend our usual three year event cycle for charities (Year 1 - Yorkshire Three Peaks. Year 2 - National Three Peaks. Year 3 - Welsh 3000's) by creating their own flagship fundraising challenge. We would love to be involved in helping create and deliver a brand new challenge especially for you.

Previous events have included long distance trail challenges, mountain bike orienteering, urban adventure challenges and treasure hunts, and multisport Adventure Races. Supported long distance treks (such as the West Highland Way) are also popular, but more time consuming for participants.

Our support service can extend to any UK based challenge, over any length of time, and we are more than happy to use our modern motorhome support vehicles to support events such as Coast To Coast, End To End, Round Britain Coastal Walks, etc.

Charity Branding & Reselling

Many of our events are rebranded and resold on behalf of charities, either by the charity concerned, or by a third party charity events organiser. For an example, please see Charity Challenge. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you think we can offer your charity an adventurous fundraising event in 2010..! Our charity branded events are hugely popular and are a great way to promote the work of your charity or good cause.

Event Size.

We can cater for the smallest groups of just 4-6 people right up to events with well over 1000 participants. We can advise on setting entry limits, and also help predict the amount of interest your event may attract, and how much advertising you may need.
