Three Peaks Challenge & Adventure Challenge

National 24 hour Three Peaks Challenge

The National Three Peaks Challenge is an exhilerating and demanding walking challenge that involves visiting some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Britain. This team event visits Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands, Scafell Pike in the English Lake District, and Snowdon in the Snowdonia National Park, north Wales. Completed over a weekend, the 24 hours of climbing and travelling allow for an overnights stay either in Fort William before the challenge, or in north Wales afterwards.

To offer help and advice to groups or individuals wishing to organise or take part in a 3 Peaks, we now have a Three Peaks Challenge Information Group on Facebook - just click the link to enter..!

This hugely popular challenge is appealing to corporate and charity organisers because it is widely known as one of the UK's prestige mountain challenge events and interset is always high, it can be conveniently completed over a weekend, teams are willing to supply all of their own transport and equipment, PR and CSR potential are very high, fundraising return is also very high - often at a ratio of around 5:1

Many teams taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge will also become engaged in training and fundraising events beforehand, and will often go on to take part in further events in subsequent years - ie, Welsh 14 peaks, Lakes 24 Peaks, West Highland Way, Yorkshire Three Peaks, Adventure Challenge weekends.

Why choose Merseyventure for your 3 Peaks Challenge?

Merseyventure can offer a full range of Three Peaks Challenge events, from a simple fully inclusive challenge for a team of 6 raising funds for your charity, to a full scale event with 15-40 teams taking part (each raising some £5000 for your charity).

For those wishing to try and complete the challenge within a strict 24 hour timeframe, we suggest small compact groups of up to 6 walkers, in our modern, unrestricted minibuses. Small groups have a much better chance of completing the challenge in a sub-24 hour time. For larger groups just wishing to complete the challenge as continuous event, perhaps sometimes taking nearer 30 hours, we offer 17 seater minibuses.

All of our vehicles are fully regulated by either Liverpool City Council or VOSA, fully insured for Hire & Reward, and drivers are fully legal to drive..! We are aware some other challenge suppliers simply 'ignore' the legal requirements to have an Operators Licence to provide transport services, and surrounding complience issues when organising a Three Peaks Challenge. Charities should ensure any organiser provides them with a copy of the Operators Licence..!

We offer event consultation, pre-event training weekends, full event safety and support, plus event T shirts, medals and certificates. We can also provide event promotion, website and event photographers. For enquiries, email richie@merseyventure.com

Small Group Charity Challenge.

Merseyventure can organise a small group charity challenge with fully inclusive transport, food, mountain guide, driver and support for groups of 6+. Many charities will recruit a team to enter and raise funds (often £600 - £1000 per person) which offers a great return for little outlay. Please see our current information below. Events on demand, and discounts are available for charity fundraising events.

Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

The Three Peaks of Yorkshire Challenge is a popular walking challenge which can be completed over a 12 hour period. Ideal as a small team challenge, this is a great fundraising and team building opportunity, and many groups use this as a training/recruitment event for a national Three Peaks Challenge event.

Teams that take part in this 12 hour mountain challenge are often easily recruited the following year for a National 3 Peaks event, and the circular route makes this a good social occassion with teams encouraged to celebrate their achievement with a BBQ and a few drinks followed by an overnight stay in Horton-In-Ribblesdale rather than departing for home straight after the challenge with cheap accommodation including bunkhouses and camping.

Merseyventure and the Three Peaks

Merseyventure operates Three Peaks Challenge events most weekends from April to October, from small bespoke challenges for groups of 4-6 walkers up to large charity and Open events with up to 200 walkers.

We are committed to ensure that all of our challenges are of low impact, and we work closely with National Parks and the National Trust, plus local authorities and other stakeholders, to ensure our challenge events cause as little disturbance as possible. Our links with mountain guides from local mountain rescue teams, along with our strict Safety Policies, ensures that walkers are kept safe at all times whilst on the mountains. We have our own licenced VHF Radio Network, and each Team Leader is given a handheld radio so they are in contact with our mountain safety staff at all times.

We bring our own mobile toilets into areas where local facilities are poor, we pre-book parking for teams, and we also provide skips and bin bags for teams in areas where there are no rubbish bins. Our base staff ensure any sign of litter is removed before we vacate any location, often leaving it cleaner than when we arrived. For events staged on behalf on charities, we abide by the Institute Of Fundraising voluntary code of conduct.

With our vast experience of organising and delivering quality, safe and environmentally sound Three Peaks Challenge events, you can rest assured that you will be in safe hands.
