More Information - Enter Online 7-8 May 2011: Spring Stroller Three Peaks Challenge This hugely popular national Three Peaks is open to all teams of 4-6 walkers plus 2 drivers. Strictly limited to 15 teams via online entries. More Information - Enter Online Merseyventure announce the dates for the popular "Spring Stroller Three Peaks Challenge" in 2011. And, the dates are: Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May 2011. Open to teams of 4-6 walkers (with two drivers who won't be walking), teams will register at the Alexandra Hotel in Fort William on Saturday morning, before a Safety Event Briefing at the hotel at noon. Here teams will be issued with safety information packs, driving routes, walking routes and maps, vehicle ID signs, VHF radios, team leader event bibs, emergency group shelters, weather reports, etc., before moving to the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre to start their challenge. The challenge will end some 24 hours later at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Llanberis, where teams completing the challenge will recieve medals and certificates, and can enjoy a buffet at the award ceremony. Team places are limited on this event, and for 2011 we are only accepting online entries. Three Peaks Mountain Rally Challenge 2011 Have you completed the national Three Peaks Challenge of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon? A total of 3407 metres height, and a drive of some 450 miles. Enjoy it? What about the 'thinking man's Three Peaks Challenge'? Starting in Glasgow, your team of 4 climbers and 2 drivers will be given a list of 6 mountains, two in each country (Scotland, England, Wales). You must select a number of mountains you will climb, totaling a minimum height of 3407 metres, and at least one mountain from each country. A selection of possible mountain locations is shown on the google map on the left. Here's the bones of the Mountain Rally Challenge: Mass start of teams Gumball Rally style from venue near Glasgow, 6am Saturday morning. Teams recieve mountain locations, compulsory border checkpoint locations, and finish venue details at the start. Pick your route and your mountains - away you go. Climb one or two mountains in Scotland, pass through the border checkpoint into England, climb one or two mountains, pass through border checkpoint into Wales, climb one or two mountains, then proceed to the Mountain Rally finish venue (south end of the country). The first team to complete the challenge, without any rule violations, wins £1000 cash. Simples. General Rules & Info: Teams MUST consist of 2 drivers and 4 climbers. All of the nominated climbers MUST visit each summit, together. Visits to checkpoints and mountain summits MUST be recorded on our Sport Ident timing system. All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the challenge. Teams MUST check-in via text message as required in the event rules. The winners of the £1000 cash will be the first team to arrive at the finish checkpoint, and clock through the finish control, where their electronic timing device will prove they have: 1: Started correctly at Glasgow. 2: All of the climbers have visited summit checkpoints totaling 3407 metres or more. 3: Have visited both border checkpoints. 4: Still have both drivers. 5: Have been the first valid team to finish at the finish venue. 6: Will have complied with all event rules.
